Memphis Farmer's Market Info

Vendor Products

At Memphis Farmers Market, you’ll find a huge variety of products that all share a common characteristic – they’re all locally-grown, locally-raised and locally-produced!

In other words, you won’t find resale products at the Memphis Farmers Market. Why? Because it is important to us that you know where your products came from. This is also the reason you won’t some of common produce found in local grocery stores, such as bananas or citrus. These goods generally aren’t produced locally; they are transported to Memphis from other areas.

Memphis Farmers Market Harvest Calendar

Many of our patrons wonder why they don’t see much produce at the market in the early season. This is because the growing calendar in the mid-south area is seasonal. This means that early-season crops you'll find in May and early June need cool weather (warm days/cool nights). Examples of early crops at the Market are greens, lettuce, cabbage, onions and strawberries. The season starts to peak in late June and July when such crops as tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and peppers become available. Soon after you'll find sweet corn, melons, peas and late summer tomatoes. The season winds down in September, repeating the cool weather cycle of lettuces, cabbages, broccoli and radishes while fall's cooling weather brings pumpkins, gourds, pansies and mums.
