Stoneground Cornmeal Cornbread

Heat oven to 425 degrees. In a cast iron skillet, heat 1/4 cup oil or bacon grease.

Ingredients:
3/4 cup self-rising flour
3/4 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk

Mix dry ingredients thoroughly. Add eggs and milk, stirring until lightly mixed. Pour into hot skillet. Bake for 20 minutes or until done.
