About the Market
The Memphis Farmers Market is a weekly, seasonal non-profit outdoor market featuring local farmers, artisans and prepared foods vendors. We showcase locally grown and produced foods and locally produced artisan goods from the Tri-State area of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. In certain cases, products from outside the Tri-State area that offer uniqueness and diversity to our shoppers are also sold. MFM rules prohibit buying produce or crafts from any source to be sold at the market. All product offerings are to be grown or made by the vendor represented at the market. MFM is a not-for-profit organization created by a group of local volunteers and run by a volunteer board composed of people passionate about local food, small farms, and making a connection between consumers and local producers.

Vendor Marketing
We strive to help our vendors promote their business and the benefits of buying local. As an MFM vendor, you'll receive a vendor profile in our list of vendors that includes your products available, times at the market and contact information. We also feature vendors every week on our homepage and in our weekly email newsletter. And we encourage vendors to join our Memphis Farmers Market Facebook community to post notes to our MFM fans about products you offer or weeks you'll be at the market. There are also opportunities to advertise your business on our website and e-newsletter.
We also offer vendor stall merchandising tips to help our vendors grow their business at the market.
Weekly Entertainment and Education
Live music is offered weekly, along with fun entertainment and educational events and programs including cooking demos, meet your vendor, pet adoption days and more. Bring the whole family and have fun with our kids activities. We also feature health and nutrition educational activities at the Harvesting Good Health table including health screenings, dietary benefits and recipe tips for fruits and vegetables at the market that week, and fun health facts for kids.
We encourage our vendors to participate in all our events and programs. Interaction with patrons is very important in promoting a sense of connection between the producer and the community. If you are interested in helping, or have questions, contact us.
Vendor and Product Categories
The MFM accepts vendors in three categories:
- Farm Vendors, which includes all produce, meat, fish, and dairy products, as well as garden products
- Prepared Food Vendors, which includes only offerings approved and permitted by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture or appropriate state agency
- Artisan and Craft Vendors with goods made from natural materials specifically for use in the kitchen or garden. In general, Artisan and Craft Vendors are limited to every other week in order to widen the product offerings to our buying public.
We strive to maintain a balance of approximately 70% Farm Vendors, 20% Prepared Food Vendors, and 10% craft vendors on each market day. In the early part of the season and in the waning weeks of the market, we may temporarily have available stall space for more Artisan and Prepared Food Vendors.
Product reselling or Co-Op arrangements are NOT allowed. Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis to this rule in the case of a catastrophic event such as the 2007 freeze that wiped out the entire tri-state peach crop.
Market Location and Vending Stalls
Our location is downtown in the Pavilion behind Central Station, at the corner of G.E. Patterson and S. Front Street. There is plenty of available parking. Restrooms are available for patrons and vendors.
- We have 44 pavilion stalls and 14 stalls extending off the pavilion into the parking lot running along the main entrance to the market.
- Most vending spaces are 10' x 10.
- In the majority of stalls, vendors can park their light trucks and vehicles behind their stalls.
- Electricity is available to approximately 1/2 of our pavilion stalls, and 2 of the stalls extending off the pavilion.
- In the interest of maintaining product diversity & allowing more opportunities for selling at the market, and due to limited space, we will not lease 2 stalls to vendors. Some vendors have been grandfathered, as they have been with the market since it's inception when space was not at a premium and rented two stalls at that time.
